AUCKLAND, 12 July 2022 – With the touchdown today of flight AC39, Air Canada is delighted to be once again back in New Zealand, providing travellers with a non-stop, Boeing 787 Dreamliner service between Auckland and Vancouver.

Following an almost three-year COVID-induced hiatus, Air Canada’s seasonal service will now operate at least four time a week from New Zealand’s largest city to the award-winning Vancouver International Airport (YVR), from where travellers can seamlessly connect with Air Canada’s extensive North American network.

Air Canada General Manager Australia and New Zealand Vic Naughton says the much-anticipated return of the seasonal service will re-connect Kiwis with some of the world’s most celebrated winter playgrounds, while giving North Americans the opportunity to enjoy New Zealand’s vast range of alluring summer attractions.

In addition, it will reintroduce Kiwi travellers to Air Canada’s award-winning services and help re-establish YVR – Air Canada’s trans-Pacific hub – as the most efficient and friendly North American gateway for New Zealand business and leisure travellers.

“Thanks to our early morning arrival times and YVR’s hassle-free international-to-domestic connection process, New Zealanders can now hit the slopes at some of British Columbia’s world-famous ski-fields on the day they arrive,” says Naughton.

“Air Canada passengers travelling on to US destinations can also do so with unrivalled ease. They simply step off the Auckland-Vancouver flight, pass-through US Customs at YVR, then pick up their bags once they touch down at their US destination.”

Air Canada’s B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft features 30 Signature Service lie-flat seat suites, 21 Premium Economy and 247 Economy Class seats. All Air Canada flights provide for accumulation and redemption of Aeroplan Points, and for eligible customers, priority check-in, Maple Leaf Lounge access, priority boarding and other benefits.

Air Canada’s onboard services on its South Pacific flights showcase the best cuisine Canadian culinary talent has to offer with Air Canada’s panel of celebrity chefs, including award-winning, Vancouver-based chef David Hawksworth and Montreal-based chef Jérôme Ferrer. Complementing the culinary journey is a selection of top wines chosen by leading Canadian sommelier Véronique Rivest.
