Adventure South NZ Launches new Multi-Activity Adventures, including an Epic Traverse of the Entire Country

New Zealand’s leading adventure tour operator, Adventure South NZ, has launched two new
multi-activity adventures, including a human powered traverse across the breadth of the South Island.
Crafted to deliver a profound sense of achievement, the 4 day Coast to Coast NZ Bike, Hike and Raft is an unforgettable journey – by bike, boot and raft – that begins on the wild west coast, crosses the mighty Southern Alps to finish on the East Coast near Christchurch.
Passing through some of the South island’s most diverse and remote landscapes, adventurers undertake a challenging mountain hike across the Southern Alps via the iconic Goat Pass, multiple river crossings, boulder hopping and scrambling, on their way to the towering Waimakariri Gorge, where grade 2 rapids keep the fun levels high.
The trip departs Christchurch from November to March and costs $2,095NZD per person (twin share), which includes most meals, accommodation, services of experienced back country guides and a private support vehicle.
Another spectacular multi-activity adventure is the 5 day Milford and Fiordland Hike Bike and Kayak, which is jammed packed with highlights, each chosen to deliver an unforgettable experience taking in the very best of the destination.
Staying overnight on the waters of the majestic Milford Sound, hiking part of the famous Great Walks Kepler, Routeburn and Milford Tracks, kayaking to Pidgeon Island on the shimmering Lake Wakatipu and cycling back country roads to the Mavora Lakes and to the remote Humboldt Falls in the Von and Hollyford Valleys is an ideal combination of activities to appreciate the natural wonders of Fiordland and the enchanting Milford Sound.
This 5 day trip departs Queenstown and costs $2,995NZD per person, which includes most meals, accommodation, services of professional guides and support vehicle. It operates in the warmer months between November and March.
According to Adventure South NZ General Manager, Phil Wyndham, the new adventures are designed for fit travellers looking to challenge themselves and experience a different side of New Zealand.
“Travelling under your own steam allows a deeper connection with your surrounds,” Mr Wyndham said. “There’s something very special about relying on your own resources rather than motorized means to complete a journey.”
The new multi activity trips are in addition to Adventure South’s NZ new gravel riding trips, its new Lake Dunstan range and all the well-loved favourites.
