World Expeditions cancels trips imminently departing to China and offers refunds to passengers
Adventure travel specialist, World Expeditions has cancelled all scheduled trips to China, for departures up until 30 April 2020 in response to the evolving situation with coronavirus.
World Expeditions is contacting travellers or their travel agents now to advise of the decision and to offer advice on alternative travel destinations as part of this process.
Should suitable alternatives not be found, World Expeditions is offering full refunds for the land services associated with travel to mainland China for departures between 30 January and 30 April 2020.
World Expeditions NZ general manager, Natalie Tambolash, said travellers’ safety is paramount.
“The closure of some of China’s iconic sites, coupled with this unfolding situation, make it impossible to provide assurances to customers who are travelling in the weeks and months ahead,” she said. “We feel this decision responds to the situation and addresses our customers’ concerns.”
“Authorities in China and international health authorities are working hard to contain the virus to minimise its spread,” she said. “As the situation evolves, we will make decisions around passengers travelling after 30 April,” Ms Tambolash said.
All destinations outside of China remain operational.
