Mad About Travel is expanding into mountain bike groups in Canada after
successfully taking 42 people and 30 bikes to Whistler in July this year.
The company’s principal, Phil Clark says that in 2024 Mad About Travel
will be running three mountain bike Canada groups including Whistler,
Vancouver and interior British Columbia.
‘We’re looking to work with the trade and supply new cycling product in the New Zealand market,’ Clark adds.
The July group was made up of 13 families with keen mountain bikers
from 11 years old to 60 years old and had riders who were kids, teenagers,
mums and dads, plus some non-riders. The trip consisted of two days
exploring the famous trails of Vancouver’s North Shore followed by six
days of riding at the Whistler bike park.
‘Whistler is an incredible destination with a range of trails suited to everyone.
It has intermediate trails where confident beginners can hone their skills
and expert trails with 60 foot gap jumps and drops where experts can push their
limits,’ Clark adds. Mad About Travel was named top niche travel agency in the Flight Centre independent awards over the weekend.
