Fiji welcomed the first flight of international visitors

Fiji welcomed the first flight of international visitors this week as it reopened borders after almost 20 months of closures. Fiji is open to fully vaccinated visitors from travel partner countries, for quarantine-free travel. National carrier, Fiji Airways flew FJ914 from Sydney, landing at 11:25am Fiji time on Wednesday carrying 300 passengers. ‘From airline to accommodation, Fiji tourism operators and related services have worked hard to ensure and uphold internationally benchmarked Covid safety practices,’ says Brent Hill, CEO Tourism Fiji.

Tourism Fiji points out that while Kiwis will need to wait until February 2022 to get back to Fiji, they can be confident Fiji says bula/gidday to first internationals that the country is ready and waiting to welcome them back with open arms as a safe travel destination, as announced by World Travel and Tourism Council.
